These terms are between you, a scientist, and Alex Hile, trading as OrbHop (not yet incorporated). Contact: hello@orbhop.com. Our privacy notice explains how we handle your data.
It is free
OrbHop never charges scientists. Employers pay us.
Showing your profile
When you tick "show my profile to employers", you consent to employers with OrbHop accounts seeing your named profile and technical brief. You can untick it at any time.
Introductions
- Employers ask for introductions in the app.
- You accept or decline each request.
- Nothing is shared beyond your profile and brief unless you accept.
- When you accept, we introduce you by one email to you and the employer together, with OrbHop copied. That email shares your contact email with that employer.
Exclusive representation for 60 days
When you accept a request, OrbHop represents you exclusively to that employer for 60 days from the day you accept. In that window you agree not to let another agency put you forward to that employer. You can still apply to, and talk to, anyone you like, including that employer directly.
Accuracy
- You confirm that the information you enter is accurate and yours to share.
- The technical brief quotes your public papers. Tell us if anything in it is wrong. We will fix it or remove it.
Sharing our fee
We may share part of our fee with scientists we place. Any such arrangement will be agreed in writing before an offer.
Leaving
You can leave at any time by deleting your account in the app. Deleting it erases your profile, brief, sessions, shortlists and introduction requests immediately.
We may hide or remove a profile that is inaccurate, is not a real scientist's, or breaks these terms. Our privacy notice lists the few records we keep, and why.
Liability
We do not promise that you will be introduced to anyone or hired. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of OrbHop. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law.
Changes
We will post any new version with its date and email you if the change matters to you.
